2 Samuel 23:24-24:25, Acts 3, Psalms 23:1-4, Proverbs 16:21-23

What God said to me – Everywhere you look you see people in need, and it is easy to think “if I had a lot of money, I could help so many people and do so much good”.  However, most of the time, money is just a temporary fix and not what people really need.  When Peter and John were going into the temple and came across the lame beggar, Peter said, “I do not possess silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you.”  Then he healed him in Jesus name.  Think about it – if Peter and John had money, they would have given it to him and he would have been better off financially for a time, but he wouldn’t have been healed – he also wouldn’t have had the opportunity to hear about this Jesus in whose name he was healed and the people who witnessed the miracle would not have heard about Jesus.  So, when you see a need, don’t just think that because you are not rich there is nothing you can do – think “what I have, I give to you”.  So, what do you have – time to spend with someone – words to encourage someone – a meal to share with someone – a ride to give to someone – a chore to help someone do – then use the opportunity to share Jesus.
