2 Kings 22-25, Psalms 91

What God said to me – The way to please Me is to obey My word wholeheartedly.  Do not compromise.  Follow Me fully and completely.  Very few of My children are totally devoted to Me.  It is so easy to fall away.  The world is so enticing.  Look at the kings of Judah – even most of those who did what was right in My sight left the high places.  They wanted to be liked . . . to be popular . . . to fit in with the world rather than please Me fully.  Commit yourself to Me wholeheartedly.  Refuse to compromise.  To be constant you  must spend much time with Me.  Look at every situation, every word you speak through My eyes.  Let Me change your heart.

2 Kings 19-21, Psalms 90

What God said to me – I hear you – I always hear you.  I hear your prayers.  I see your tears.  Know that “I AM” in control.  I can use all things for good.  Trust Me and watch what I do.  I can take the worst circumstance and use it to bring glory to My name.  I can change hearts.  I can change minds.  You be faithful.  You pray.  You trust Me.  Watch what I do.

2 Kings 15-18, Psalms 89:19-52

What God said to me – Judgment is a terrible thing.  Because of My love and My desire that people should come to repentance, I hold off judgment.  “I AM” patient and desire all to come to repentance, and yet few take advantage of My mercy.  They think that My withholding My hand means judgment will never come.  That couldn’t be further from the truth.  The world is at the brink.  I will not hold back for much longer. All that I have said, I will do.  The time is short for repentance.  Tell them.

2 Kings 12-14, Psalms 89:1-18

What God said to me – I did not say that I would blot the name of Israel from under heaven.  “I AM” faithful and “I AM” a covenant keeping God.  Even when My chosen strayed far from Me, I did not totally destroy them.  I remembered My covenant with Abraham.  I remembered My covenant with David.  Though they strayed far from Me and did not believe My word, there is coming a day when I will gather them in My arms and reveal Myself to them and restore them.

2 Kings 8-11, Psalms 88

What God said to me – “According to the word of the Lord”.  You read it, but do you believe it?  My word is true.  All that I have said, I will do.  These are not fairy tales you are reading.  They are actual accounts of Me fulfilling My word.  What do these things that happened so long ago have to do with you today?  They show you that My plan cannot be thwarted.  “I AM” in control.  Times may change.  “Morals” may change.  My word does not change.  I do not change.  Sin is still sin and will still be punished.  Things are snowballing quickly to an end.  I, however, have no ending.

2 Kings 5-7, Psalms 87

What God said to me – You don’t ever have to be afraid for “I AM” with you always.  I know that’s easier said than done, but nonetheless, it’s true.  When you are surrounded by danger or uncertainty, don’t focus on them.  Think about Me – about who “I AM”.  What is seen is not always the reality.  Just because you are surrounded by danger, doesn’t mean you are in danger.  You are in My hand.  Nothing can happen that I don’t allow and if I allow it, then it is for your good.  Trust Me.  Trust who “I AM”.

2 Kings 1-4, Psalms 86

What God said to me – It is well – that was the Shunamite woman’s response even as her son lay dead.  She was deeply sorrowful and troubled, but that was her response.  What is your response when you are deeply sorrowful and troubled?  Can you say, “it is well”?  Because “I AM” no matter what happens, it is well.  That is all you need to know.  That is what you need to cling to.  That is walking by faith – knowing that “I AM” so it is well.

Philemon 1, Psalms 85

What God said to me – Restoration is at the heart of who “I AM”.  There is no one who has not failed and fallen away from Me.  My heart’s desire is to restore them to fellowship.  Remember this when you stumble – when you sin and fall away.  Don’t hesitate to return.  Don’t put it off for a moment.  I long to forgive the repentant and restore them to a right relationship with Me.  Each moment you put it off due to shame or embarrassment just adds to the divide and makes it more difficult for you to surmount and return.

Jonah 1-4, Psalms 84

What God said to me – There is blessing in walking with Me.  That is not to say there will never be trials or difficult circumstances.  After all of this you are still swayed by the misconception that those who walk with Me have happy, easy lives and those who don’t have trials and tribulations.  The blessing in walking with Me is not that things are always easy or worry free – the blessing is in walking “with Me”!  “I AM” the blessing because “I AM” there to guide you and teach you and comfort you and transform your life.  Don’t look to circumstances to find blessing – look to Me.

1 Kings 20-22, Psalms 83

What God said to me – Do you see – things have not changed so much.  From the beginning My enemies have sought to destroy My people.  I have been patient, but I will not be patient for much longer. My name will be glorified in all the earth.  I will put My enemies under My feet, and I will establish My people as I have promised.  The end is approaching quickly.  Live in such a way that you will not be ashamed at My coming.  Live with urgency.  Don’t be lazy or complacent.  Be wholly devoted to Me.

1 Kings 16-19, Psalms 82

What God said to me – My word came to Elijah over and over again – when he was in need, when he was tired, when he was frightened, when he needed assurance, when he needed direction.  Elijah heard because he was seeking Me and listening for Me.  Learn from Elijah for it is the same for you and anyone who earnestly seeks Me.  I speak, but you must be listening and seeking in order to hear.  I know you desire a loud voice or a miraculous circumstance, but that is not how I generally speak.  Most often it is in a whisper through My word or in your spirit so you must stay in tune with Me constantly, so you don’t miss what I have to say.

1 Kings 13-15, Psalms 81

What God said to me – Evil is all about and wickedness is blatant.  Things that used to be hidden are now out in the open.  I cannot long hold back.  Judgment must come so righteousness is restored.  Even My people do not listen to Me or long after Me.  You must constantly guard your heart and mind.  Don’t succumb to the temptation to be a part of the group.  It is better to stand apart with Me than to compromise in order to be accepted.

1 Kings 10-12, Psalms 80

What God said to me – Do you see what a disaster it is when people go their own way instead of following Me?  Look at Jeroboam and learn from his rebellion – for that is what it was.  I promised to establish his kingdom if he would just trust Me and follow Me, but he looked at the circumstances and could not see how it could be done. So, he devised his own plan which was contrary to My plan – it was a way which seemed right to him but was far from what I told him.  It was lack of trust in My ability to do what I said that caused him to try to manipulate the circumstances to “help”. Trust is essential in walking with Me.  Trust Me to work on your behalf.

1 Kings 7—9, Psalms 79

What God said to me – All I do, I do for the glory of My own name and for the love of My children.  As I work to accomplish My purpose in the world it is for the glory of My name.  All that I have said, I will do so the world will know that I alone am God.  They may not acknowledge it now, but there is coming a day when they will.  I also am at work in the world pouring out My love on My children.  As I accomplish My purpose, the kingdom which I have promised them will be established and all they long for will come to fruition.  As you walk with Me, think about that – yearn for that time when “I AM” seated on My throne ruling over the whole earth.

1 Kings 4-6, Psalms 78:40-72

What God said to me – Do you see My sovereignty – that I choose who I will choose to accomplish My purpose?  People may think “I AM” asleep or don’t care because of the way things are but I judge on My own timetable.  When the time is right, I will overcome My adversaries once and for all.  I will save My people and restore them to the land and their proper place.  Your call is to shepherd those I bring to you.  You must walk in integrity of heart before Me. You must be faithful to teach and warn.

1 Kings 1-3, Psalms 78:1-39

What God said to me – I brought the children of Israel out of slavery in Egypt and into the promised land.  Even though I did great things in their midst and fulfilled My promise to them, they were a stubborn and rebellious generation that did not prepare its heart.  This should be a lesson to you in this day you are living for “I AM” about to do a great work to fulfill My promise.  You must prepare your heart and warn others to prepare theirs.  Time is growing short.  Keep this in the forefront of your mind.  Don’t let the sense of urgency wane.  Prepare your heart for “I AM” coming soon.

Colossians 1-4, Psalms 77

What God said to me – You work for Me.  You don’t work for your company or your family, but for Me.  Don’t ever forget that.  All that you do in this world is for Me because you belong to Me.  So when you slack off or are lazy or resentful about the task at hand, it is toward Me.  You should strive to be the most diligent and faithful worker because you are working for Me – serving Me.  Always be looking to Me, asking Me what to do next and I will give you direction.  This is one of the reasons you must devote yourself to prayer – so you know My voice and you are seeking to hear and obey.

2 Samuel 21-24, Psalms 76

What God said to me – Those who belong to Me and walk with Me don’t need to worry about what will come their way for when I made a covenant with them, I took responsibility for them.  This includes you, for you are Mine.  You will not miss Me when you seek Me because I set you in My way.  You cannot miss Me. While you may not see or understand, I do, so trust that you are where I want you to be.  Don’t worry about being unprepared for as you walk with Me, “I AM” preparing you for whatever you will encounter along the way.  That is why this time is so important.  Training can be tedious and time consuming, but when the time comes, you will be prepared.  Devote yourself to this time.

2 Samuel 18-20, Psalms 75

What God said to me – Men think they are in control of this earth and its nations.  They in their pride think they are the ones who appoint leaders.  However, it is I who raises up and brings low.  “I AM” the one who is in control.  “I AM” the one who sets the appointed times for nations to rise and fall.  “I AM” the one who has selected the time for judgment and “I AM” the judge.  It is by My standard that everyone will be measured.  My cup of wrath will soon be poured out, and they will know the truth of who “I AM”.  The wicked will be thrown down and the righteous will be lifted up.  The day is at hand.

2 Samuel 14-17, Psalms 74

What God said to me – No matter how bad things may seem to be in the world or that evil seems to be prevailing, remember that “I AM” God Almighty and “I AM” in control.   Just look at Absalom and his counselors to see how easily I can turn hearts to accomplish My purpose.  Even people who don’t believe I exist are under My control and can be used to accomplish My purpose.  Take heart when you see world leaders making decisions that seem to be leading to destruction for “I AM” in control.  Light will soon overtake the darkness.  The end is near when evil will be destroyed.  Watch closely and you will see Me at work.

2 Samuel 11-13, Psalms 73

What God said to me – Wealth is temporal, and beauty will fade but your relationship with Me is forever.  You must learn to focus on the eternal.  I know the temporal delights the senses, but in the end, it brings no satisfaction.  Walk with Me day by day.  My counsel will guide you and teach you.  Let My Spirit transform your heart so that you see through all the glitz the world offers.  Let Me open your eyes to the eternity that lies before you so you can learn to focus on those things that are truly meaningful. “I AM” the best thing for you.  “I AM” your greatest treasure. This truth alone should cause your focus to change so you spend time where it matters.

2 Samuel 8-10, Psalms 72

What God said to me – I always do what is good in My sight.  When you are watching the news and are hearing of all of the ungodly things going on, remember that.  All of these things, as terrible as they are, are being used to accomplish My purpose and fulfill My plan. Stay alert, always watching and praying but don’t be afraid for “I AM” in control.  Evil will not triumph.  I will be victorious.  The end is quickly approaching.

2 Samuel 4-7, Proverbs 31

What God said to me – What kind of relationship do you have with Me?  Is it one where you come to Me, seeking My advice and counsel or do you just assume you know what I want and go do it? Assumptions can be dangerous and have serious consequences for My ways are not your ways nor My thoughts your thoughts.  There is a way that seems right to man but it leads to death.  You must seek Me in everything and learn not to go off on your own, assuming you know what I would want you to do.  I will not lead you astray when you come seeking My will.  When you go off track is when you step out on your own without seeking My direction and instruction.

2 Samuel 1-3, Proverbs 30

What God said to me – I have placed you in life and history exactly where I want you so that I may accomplish My purpose in you, and you may be conformed to My image.  Don’t waste your time wishing for more than I have given you or wondering why you have so much, and others have so little.  Look to Me and ask how you can glorify Me where I have placed you.  Don’t feel guilty for what you have or envious for what you don’t but be content with what I have given.  Learn to trust that I have done all for you to have life and godliness and I will use your circumstances to accomplish this.  In a world so filled with “stuff”, contentment and trust are difficult things to learn.  Turn to Me and let Me teach you. 

Philippians 1-4, Proverbs 29:15-23

What God said to me – Forget what lies behind and reach forward to what lies ahead.  Don’t dwell on the failures of your past.  I have forgiven and you must too.  Walking with Me means moving forward, not backward.  Start fresh each day – sometimes, each moment.  Don’t let momentary lapses cause you to flounder and stop.  Time spent in self-pity or self-flagellation is wasted time.  Repent and move on.  This walk with Me is a journey that will never end here on earth, so keep walking.  Press toward the goal always remembering, the goal is not here, but in heaven.  Press on toward the goal, always remembering that I take pleasure in the journey – walking with you and teaching you.

1 Samuel 29-31, Proverbs 29:1-14

What God said to me – Look to the example of David.  When you are tired or distressed, come to Me for comfort and rest.  This should always be your response, no matter what your situation or need.  Come to Me.  Seek out what I would have you to do.  The strength you need is found in Me.  The rest you need is found in Me.  The direction you need is found in Me.  You must continue to come to Me no matter what those around you are saying or doing.  Don’t let their anger or fear or despair deter you.  Don’t react or respond.  Turn to Me.  “I AM” all you need.  Trust Me for all you need for “I AM”.

1 Samuel 26-28, Proverbs 28:15-28

What God said to me – My ways are unsearchable.  No matter how close you are to Me or follow after Me, you will never be able to fully understand Me or My ways.  What you can do is trust Me – trust that “I AM” always good – trust that “I AM” always faithful – trust that I always only do what is right.  When you don’t understand, you must trust.  When you think what I do is contradictory, you must trust.  You must walk with Me closely, always listening, always learning.  At those times when you see in a mirror darkly, trust that one day it will be clear.  Walk in faith and trust Me.  I will never violate who “I AM”.

1 Samuel 23-25, Proverbs 28:1-14

What God said to me – It is better to be in the most difficult circumstances ever and be crying out to Me for help and deliverance than to be in the best circumstances and not giving Me a thought.  Good or bad, hard or easy, focus is what matters.  Where is your focus?  Is it on Me no matter what your circumstances or is your focus on your circumstances?  It is just as bad to be focused on your circumstances in prosperous times as it is during difficult times.  You must learn to always set your eyes on things above – on Me – and not on earthly things.  That is how you find peace and contentment despite your circumstances.

1 Samuel 20-22, Proverbs 27:15-27

What God said to me – I have told you often and you know this to be true – that “I AM” carrying out My plan for your life and for the world.  In doing so I use many people who are totally unaware they are accomplishing My purposes.  It’s not just unbelievers, but believers also are used in ways they have no idea.  So, when you reflect on your life, don’t be discouraged when you feel like you have done so little for My kingdom.  You have no idea the things I have accomplished through a word or an act of kindness or a smile.  You continue to seek Me and walk with Me and let Me be responsible for the results.

1 Samuel 16-19, Proverbs 27:1-14

What God said to me – As you go through life in the day-to-day encounters, good or bad, easy or difficult, remember you go in My name because you belong to Me.  Make a conscious effort to remember that each day so that when you interact with those I bring across your path, you are acting and responding as I would.  You must not dishonor My name or bring Me into disrepute because of your actions.  Most of those who do not know Me will only see Me through those who belong to Me.  You must be consistent in your walk so you are constantly reflecting Me to them.  Don’t let inconsistency on your part be a cause for them to reject Me.

1 Samuel 13-15, Proverbs 26:17-28

What God said to me – To walk with Me in obedience is not to guess what you think I would want and to do it or to choose how you would honor Me – it is to seek My face, listen to My voice, and to do what I command you to do.  Don’t do what you think is best and then try to justify it to Me.  To do so is to reject My word.  When you reject My word, then you reject Me.  Commit yourself to walk with Me no matter what the cost.

1 Samuel 10-12, Proverbs 26:1-16

What God said to me – Following Me begins with commitment on your part.  You must listen to My voice and take a stand.  You must not turn aside or get distracted by the things of the world.  I know this is not easy.  The world is constantly distracting you from Me and it is difficult to stay focused.  When you find yourself straying away, you must learn to stop, re-focus, and quickly return.  Don’t allow sin to keep you from Me but turn back to Me quickly for sin cannot profit or deliver you – only I can.  I will not abandon you for you are Mine.  I will come after you, not just for your sake, but for Mine also.  I love you.

1 Samuel 7-9, Proverbs 25:15-28

What God said to me – As you come up against obstacles, difficult circumstances, or difficult people, don’t try to manipulate them, pray.  Trust Me to work on your behalf.  Unless I give you specific instructions, do nothing but pray and trust in Me.  I can do more with a peal of thunder than you can with armies or wealth or clever plans.  Look back on your life and reflect on how I have worked on your behalf to bring you to this place.  Set an Ebenezer in your heart to say, “thus far the Lord has helped me.”  Trust that I will continue to help you as you walk with Me.  I will accomplish My purpose in your life and in the world.

1 Samuel 4-6, Proverbs 25:1-14

What God said to me – “I AM” not a talisman to be worn around your neck like a good luck charm.  “I AM” Almighty God, King of kings, and Lord of lords.  Just because you are My child doesn’t mean that everything will come easily, or your life will be without distress.  Sometimes, in fact, it is just the opposite.  My responsibility as your Father is to conform you into My image – whatever it takes.  In order for you to be transformed it sometimes requires the use of difficult circumstances to accomplish My purpose.  You must trust that whatever is happening to you is by design.  “I AM” at work.

1 Samuel 1-3, Proverbs 24:23-34

What God said to me – Today as in the days of Samuel a word from Me is rare.  People have gone their own way and very few ever seek Me or long to hear from Me.  You must learn to listen for Me – to know My voice when I whisper – to know My voice when I shout.  I speak to My children, but they continue to tune Me out.  You must come aside with Me away from the cacophony of the world in order to learn My voice.  Spend time with Me just listening because when you do, you will be able to distinguish My voice even with all the noise of the world.

Ephesians 4-6, Proverbs 24:1-22

What God said to me – You look at your life and think how much time you have wasted and how little you have accomplished on My behalf.  What you fail to realize is that no one can accomplish anything “on My behalf”.  It is I who work through you and not the other way around.  You have no idea how I may or may not have used you to accomplish My purposes so don’t dwell on the past with regret.  Live for today.  Walk with Me today.  This is the day that I have made – rejoice and be glad in this day.  Walk with Me in this day.  Purpose to obey Me fully this day.

Ephesians 1-3, Proverbs 23:19-35

What God said to me – I have chosen you – never forget that.  You are Mine, chosen to display My glory.  That is the way I want you to live your life – seeking Me – walking with Me – allowing Me to shine through you.  You are the mirror I chose to reflect My image to the world.  That is why it is so important that you are patient and kind to everyone you encounter for when they see you, then they see Me.  I know it’s not easy to be My child in the world today and to be steadfast and stand firm.  That is exactly why you must stay so close to Me so I can help you in time of need.  “I AM” always patient and always kind and through Me, you can be also.
