2 Chronicles 1-3, Romans 6, Psalms 16:1-11, Proverbs 19:20-21
What God said to me – David, a man after My own heart, longed to build a house for Me – a temple where Israel could worship Me and I could meet with them. However, I didn’t allow David to build it, but I called his son, Solomon, to build it. Solomon’s awestruck response was, “who am I that I should build a house for Him?” Solomon wanted to build a great house for Me with the best and most precious materials because of My greatness. Now, think about your life as My child. I don’t dwell in great buildings, but I have chosen to live in the hearts of My children. Your response, like Solomon’s, should be one of awestruck wonder that I should choose to dwell in you. Your response, like Solomon’s, should be to build your heart into the most beautiful dwelling place for Me by constantly walking with Me in love and obedience and allowing Me to cleanse and sanctify you. Never get over the awe and wonder that I chose you, I love you, and “I AM” with you every moment.
