2 Chronicles 12-13, Proverbs 29:15-27, Matthew 12:1-21

What God said to me – Rehoboam, Solomon’s son, became king of Judah after him.  During his seventeen year reign there were times when he sought Me and followed Me, but more often than not, he went his own way.  Like so many people, he did what he wanted and went his own way until he got into trouble and then he would cry out to Me for help.  Rehoboam did evil because he did not set his heart on Me.  What about you?  Is your heart set on Me or do you, like Rehoboam, do what you want until you get into trouble and then you turn back to Me?  Sadly, this up and down, back and forth spiritual walk is true for most of My children.  This consistent time with Me is necessary to set your heart on Me and avoid being like Rehoboam.  You cannot be steadfast and faithful in your walk without spending much time with Me and in My word – that is what this lifelong conversation is all about.

2 Chronicles 10-11, Proverbs 29:1-14, Matthew 11:16-30What God said to me – “I AM” sovereign.  If nothing else, cling to this one truth.  It is the hope and the source of faith that nothing is happening in the world or in your life that I have not ordained so you can have peace and joy, not just in spite of what is going on, but because of what is going on.  When Solomon’s son, Rehoboam, became king and followed ungodly advice, the kingdom of Israel split.  It seemed like disaster had struck and yet that turn of events was from Me, to fulfill My word and accomplish My purpose.  So, whether you are looking at national and global events or just your own life and the lives of those you love, cling to My sovereignty knowing that “I AM” at work to fulfill My word and accomplish My purpose, even when you can’t see or understand.  Trust that “I AM truly working all things for your good and My glory.

2 Chronicles 9, Proverbs 28:15-28, Matthew 11: 1-19

What God said to me – Reputation is important. You should be known in your community as an honest person – a hard worker – a straight shooter – a person who loves Me and serves Me. But be careful that you are not living your life to please men. Depending on how they were raised and what has happened in their lives, people can have strange ideas about what is a good person or a godly person. John the Baptist and My Son, Jesus, were cousins, but their lives and ministries were very different. John was not a partier – he didn’t feast or drink – his life was very harsh and stark and yet there were people who said he was demon possessed. My Son ate and drank and lived among people and He was accused of being a glutton and a drunkard and for hanging out with the wrong crowd. Neither was true – they both walked to please Me and fulfill their calling. So, you too must keep your focus on Me and pleasing Me – walk in a manner worthy of your calling.
