2 Samuel 23, Psalms 119:1-16, John 3

What God said to me – You live in a day where sin is more blatant than ever before.  It’s all around you – in books and movies and television and on the internet.  The methods of exposing you to sin have exploded like no other time in history and consequently things that were once considered abhorrent are now accepted as just another lifestyle.  As a result, My children must constantly be on guard because in some way the constant, continued exposure makes it seem normal and okay.  So what are you to do?  I have not left you alone in this world – I have given you My Spirit to guide you and teach you and I have given you My word as a weapon to combat evil.  This time with Me in My word is vital.  Dedicate yourself to learning My word and meditating on it because it will change your heart and help you to keep your way pure.  I can bring it to mind when you are struggling and use it to bind your heart to Me.

2 Samuel 22, John 3

What God said to me – People have a misunderstanding about salvation.  They think that if they don’t believe in My Son, Jesus, and accept Him as their Savior then they are going to be judged.  But the reality is that they are already under judgment because they are as sinners and not worthy to be in My presence.  I could have left things that way and everyone would have been eternally separated from Me.  But because of My love I sent My Son to save a world that was already under judgment.  He became a propitiation for the wrath of My judgment for those who would believe but all who would not believe remain under judgement and will face its consequences.  Believing in Him is the only way to escape the judgment and be saved from the wrath that is to come and walking with me in obedience demonstrates your belief.

2 Samuel 21, Psalms 118:14-29, John 2

What God said to me – “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”  So how are you doing – do you really believe it?  Do you really trust that all that is going on in your life and in the world is because I made it happen today?  Are you rejoicing because of it?  Read that verse again and realize there is no wiggle room – good or bad – easy or difficult – life changing or just another day.  Your response is not to be based on the things that happened but it is to be based on the fact that “I AM” in control and carrying out My sovereign plan in My perfect time.  This is why My children can have joy and peace even in the midst of the greatest tragedies and adversities and like Job can say “blessed be the name of the Lord.”
