1 Peter 1:1-5:14

What God said to me – Prepare your mind for action.  Be self-controlled.  The more time you spend with Me and My word, the more prepared you will be.  When you find your mind wandering, bring your thoughts back to Me.  Keep practicing until you bring every thought into submission.  Holiness begins in your mind and is revealed in your words and your actions.  Saying the right things and doing the right things is not holiness, you must also think the right things.  It is necessary that you be cleared minded and self-controlled so you can pray without ceasing and effectively.  When you walk in holiness of mind and pray as I bring things to mind, your prayer will accomplish much, and My will, will be accomplished in you.  As you live in My word and eat it and breathe it and obey it, you will be strengthened so that you will be able to stand firm against the false teachers in the world and you will be able to rebut the false doctrines they teach.  Be on guard and test every teaching and doctrine you hear to make sure it lines up to My word.  Grow in My grace and knowledge so that you will not be carried away but will stand firm.

James 1:1-5:20

What God said to me – Are you in trouble, then pray.  Are you happy, then praise.  Everything that happens in your life should cause you to turn to Me.  When you are struggling or overwhelmed by all that is happening, run to Me and pour out your heart.  “I AM” always with you and I always listen.  “I AM” here to comfort and to guide, to listen and to encourage.  Don’t avoid Me because you know your attitudes and feelings are not what I would want them to be.  Come to Me and let Me clear your mind and give you direction to help you get back on the right path.  Dive into My word and let Me speak to you.

Hebrews 13:1-25

What God said to me – My children have an altar from which no one else can eat, but you must be Mine in order to partake.  My word is the bread on that altar.  You can eat and be satisfied and yet there is always room for more.  You can never come to the end of Me for my greatness is unsearchable.  My word is paradoxical – the more you have, the more satisfied you are and yet the hungrier you are.  Devour My word.  Constantly be seeking to go deeper and to learn more.  Let Me transform you through My word.  Devote yourself to My word for when you are devoted to My word, you are devoted to Me.  It is through My word that I equip you with every good thing to do My will.
