1 Timothy 1:1-6:21

What God said to me – Train yourself to be godly for godliness is the most valuable thing you can possess.  To look like Me and to be conformed to My image is the highest goal anyone can reach in a lifetime.  Let this be your life’s pursuit.  Physical training is good because it gives you strength and endurance to follow Me, but it only lasts for your time on earth.  Spiritual training lasts for all eternity.  Come to Me and I will be your personal trainer, showing you what it means to be godly.  It will take much discipline to reach this goal. There will be good things and fun things you will have to forego in order to spend time in My word and learn to exercise your faith, but the end result will be joy and peace that will last for eternity.

2 Thessalonians 1:1-3:18

What God said to me – Every day presents new challenges for you so you need to begin each day with Me so I can encourage your heart and strengthen you for the work at hand.  “I AM” here not just to give you marching orders for the day, but to come along side you, walking with you, teaching, instructing and encouraging you as we go.  It is so much easier when there are two together working and encouraging each other.  One reason you get so discouraged and frustrated with yourself is that you have not learned to walk with Me and rely on Me each step.  Let Me be a part of even the most basic and simple parts of your life and you will find even the most menial tasks become joy filled experiences.

1 Thessalonians 1:1-5:28

What God said to me – My word is at work within you.  It is the main tool I use to transform you into My image for “I AM” the word.  You cannot look or act like Me apart from spending time in My word.  It is the place that I start My work.  In it is not only the power for salvation, but also the power for sanctification.  You are so often upset and frustrated with yourself for being angry or impatient or for not thinking or responding the way you know I want you to do.  The problem is that you have not spent enough time in My word.  You must live there in order for it to change you deeply and permanently.  Think of My word as your spiritual air – you cannot survive without it.
