Colossians 2:1-4:18

What God said to me – You work for Me.  You don’t work for your company or your family, but for Me.  Don’t ever forget that.  All that you do in this world is for Me because you belong to Me.  So when you slack off or are lazy or resentful about the task at hand, it is toward Me.  You should strive to be the most diligent and faithful worker because you are working for Me – serving Me.  Always be looking to Me, asking Me what to do next and I will give you direction.  This is one of the reasons you must devote yourself to prayer – so you know My voice and you are seeking to hear and obey.

Colossians 1:1-29

What God said to me – This is My call for you – to present My word in its fullness to those I bring to you.  I have gifted you and given you understanding so that you might teach others the truth of the mysteries of God.  I will open the doors in My time.  In the meantime, you must spend much time in My word, letting Me teach you and give you understanding.  You must labor diligently so you will be prepared at a moment’s notice – always ready to stand and teach.  My word is to be your food, your air, your very life.  Devote yourself wholly to My word for then you are wholly devoted to Me.
