1 Corinthians 10:1-11:34

What God said to me – I have given you all you need for life and godliness but everyday the choice is yours to follow or not to follow My example.  Look at Israel and how so often they chose to go their own way even though I gave them everything they needed.  They suffered the consequences of their disobedience.  You must constantly think about what you say and do and whether your words and actions bring glory to Me.  You must always be on guard and alert because when you think you’re doing okay and become complacent you may fall and then become discouraged.  Stay alert so that you can stand firm when you are tempted and so you will see the way of escape I provide for you.

1 Corinthians 8:1-9:27

What God said to me – Run in such a way as to get the prize.  Your prize is to please Me for when you live in such a way as to please Me, your reward is great.  Living like this means to live purposefully.  You must determine each day to focus your thoughts on Me and the things that please Me – to bring every thought captive and submitted to My Spirit.   You must learn to come to each task, no matter how mundane, with the thought that you are doing it for Me and so do your best in each thing you do.  Never forget that “I AM” at the end of the race and keep pressing toward the finish.  Don’t stop and never give up for “I AM” here.

1 Corinthians 5:1-7:40

What God said to me – You are important to Me.  You are the temple in which I dwell, and you are the priest appointed to tend to that temple and to worship Me in it.  Exercise and self-control are necessary to maintain your body as My temple so you can serve Me as I direct.  However there is a balance.  You must not spend so much time on how you look and how you feel that your focus becomes the temple rather than the One who dwells in it.  But you must also realize that when your appearance shows a lack of care and self-control that reflects negatively not just on you, but on Me whom you serve.  Just as the priests tended to the temple daily so you must take care of your body – do it for Me as an act of worship.
