Genesis 21-23, Psalms 8

What God said to me – “And the Lord did for Sarah as He had promised.”  What a simple statement for such a profound and miraculous event.  I always do what I say I will do.  “I AM” Almighty God and I can do anything.  I have no need for great fanfare when I fulfill My promises, even if it seems miraculous to you.  I spoke all of creation into existence without any effort.  As you observe all I have created and see My splendor displayed above the heavens, stand in awe.  When you consider My heavens and the work of My hand, the moon and the stars I have ordained, your natural response is to feel small and insignificant.  However learn to turn from feelings of smallness and insignificance to awe and worship as you see My power and glory – it is what you were created to do.

Genesis 18-20, Psalms 7

What God said to me – There is an old children’s Sunday School song that says, “be careful little eyes what you see, be careful little ears what you hear”.  However in those simple verses sung by children there is deep theology that all My children need to heed.  In many ways it is easy for you to live a life where you avoid overt sin – outward things that you know are wrong to do and so you are careful not to do them.  However it is the sin committed in the mind and heart that are the difficult things for you to confront and deal with.  “I AM” a righteous God and I try the heart and the mind – not just your outward actions.  When I sent the flood in Noah’s day it was because the wickedness of man was so great that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.  If you want to please Me you must do it with all your heart and soul and mind and strength.  Guard your heart and mind by being careful what you watch and read and listen to.  Honor Me in not just all you do, but in all you think.  Be careful little eyes what you see – be careful little ears what you hear.

Genesis 15-17, Psalms 6

What God said to me – I talked with Abraham often, but when I finished talking to him each time, I went up from him.  Think about that – Abraham was a man of faith – a righteous man – I chose him to be the father of My people – he was My friend and yet I went up from him.  Now think about yourself – you are My child – like Abraham, I chose you.  I have given you My word and My Spirit to abide in you constantly, permanently.  Like Abraham, I speak to you, but I do not go up from you – I live with you and in you – this one thing alone should be a cause of constant rejoicing and worship in your life.  “I AM” with you always – I will never leave you or forsake you – rejoice and worship!
