Judges 15-16, John 2, Psalms 103:1-22, Proverbs 14:17-19

What God said to me – Do you know people who always live in the past?  They talk about their past accomplishments and the good old days – guys who are constantly reliving their sports glory days from thirty years ago.  In the story of My Son, Jesus’ first miracle where He turned that water into wine, when the steward tasted the wine, he marveled that they had saved the best for last.  That is the way it should be in your walk with Me.  Every day your walk with Me should be closer and more intimate.  Remember the past and the things I did for you and how I grew your faith as you walked with Me or how I brought you from where you were into a child of faith today, but don’t dwell there.  Today is the day I have made so rejoice in it and be glad.  You never arrive in your walk with Me until you reach glory so purpose in your heart to keep going, serving Me, walking with Me, and fellowshipping with Me.  I have saved the best for last.

Judges 13-14, John 1:29-51, Psalms 102:1-28, Proverbs 14:15-16

What God said to me – There have been many books and movies about people who travel from this time to a time past or a time in the future to find happiness and purpose.  Many people waste their lives wishing things were different – wishing they lived in a different time or place or wishing they had a different family or wishing they had wealth and prosperity.  My sovereignty is over every detail of your life.  I put you where I put you for a reason.  I put you in the time and place and family you are in for a reason.  Look at Samson – I put him in the time and place he was in to deliver Israel from the Philistines – even before he was born, I made it clear to his parents.  I put John the Baptist in the time and place he was so he could make way for My Son, Jesus – so he could call people to repentance and point them to salvation.  Look to Me and I will teach you and show you why you are where you are, and I will use you to accomplish My purpose as you surrender your life to Me.

Judges 11-12, John 1:1-28, Psalms 101:1-8, Proverbs 14:13-14

What God said to me – Golf is the only sport where you are your own referee.  You count your own strokes and call your own penalties.  The integrity of the game is based on your own personal integrity and willingness to follow the rules.  Your handicap is based on the scores that you self-report and the sport counts on your accurate and timely reporting.  In your walk as My child, I expect you to walk in a manner worthy of your calling.  I have given you My word and My Spirit to teach you what that means and to convict you and correct you when you miss the mark.  Your responsibility is to commit in your heart and mind to walk in the blameless way wherever you are and whatever you are doing.  There can be no exceptions.  Even when no one sees or knows, you must walk in integrity in your heart.  You must be consistent, especially in your home so that those who are closest to you know your faithfulness and commitment to a holy life.  Set no worthless thing before your eyes and commit to do even the most basic things like eating and drinking to My glory.
