Joel 1-2, Isaiah 44:1-18, 2 Timothy 2

What God said to me – Being a good sniper involves way more than just knowing how to shoot a gun and accuracy involves way more than just aiming.  He needs to know how to take the gun apart and examine and clean each piece and how to fit it back together.  He needs to know about ammunition and which bullet is best to use in each situation.  He needs to consider the effects of the wind and elevation and humidity before he fires.  In the same way there is way more to accurately handling My word of truth than just reading or memorizing it.  You need to know and understand the context of individual scripture but also the totality of the message of My word.  You need to consider the person you are sharing with or teaching – their background and understanding of spiritual things.  You need to understand that it is My word that is powerful – not you – so seek Me for direction and understanding – don’t just blast away but share as I direct.  It takes diligence to study and to learn so invest the time with Me so you will prove to be a workman who can accurately handle My word of truth.

Esther 9-10, Isaiah 43, 2 Timothy 1

What God said to me – There are all kinds of movies and books written about treasures that are so valuable and so sacred that they are constantly guarded and protected with booby traps and devices to keep poachers and intruders away.  Did you know that you have been entrusted with a treasure that is valuable and sacred and must be protected at all costs?  It is Me – Christ in you the hope of glory.  I have given you My Spirit to seal you and guard this treasure that has been entrusted to you.  “I AM” holy so you too are to be holy.  You must constantly be on guard, so you don’t fall into sin.  Just as the poachers in the movies are constantly trying to breach the protections to steal the treasure, you have an enemy who is constantly trying to breach your protections so stay alert.  The enemy can’t steal your treasure, but he can steal your reputation and your witness and your peace and your joy if you allow him in.  I have given you all you need for life and godliness.  Use this time with Me to prepare and train and strengthen your inner man so you are holy as “I AM” holy.

Esther 7-8, Isaiah 42, 2 Thessalonians 3

What God said to me – As the time of My return draws near, it is more important than ever that you walk in a manner worthy of your calling.  You must be consistent and walk in a godly manner in every place – at work – at home – at leisure – at church.  If you truly want to make an eternal impact in the lives of others you must be consistent in your walk with Me in every area or people will reject your message because of your hypocrisy.  Are you known as a hard worker and diligent at whatever task is before you or are you known as lazy or slothful?  Are you known for a critical attitude or are you known as an encourager?  Are you known as honest and truthful or do you “shade” the truth to your advantage?  Do you build others up or do you tear them down?  Paul was able to tell the Thessalonians to follow his example to live a godly life.  Can you say that?
