Leviticus 15 :1-16 :28, Mark 7 :1-3, Psalms 40:11-17, Proverbs 10:13-14

What God said to me – I want you to think about how much time you spend each day on food – planning your meals, buying your food, eating, snacking, talking about food, preparing your food, figuring out what’s good for you or bad for you, what you like or don’t like, when you’re going to eat, and on and on.  Now what about your spiritual life – how much time do you spend each day on it?  Do you think about the things you should be doing to be “heart healthy” spiritually?  Your spiritual health is much more important than your physical health and your “spiritual heart” has a greater impact when it comes to walking in a manner worthy of your calling and pleasing Me than your physical heart.  Just as you try to maintain your physical health by watching what you eat, you need to guard your spiritual health by watching what you consume – whether it is television or movies or books or things on the internet.  You need to plan for and set aside time for spiritual things – times with Me, Bible study, prayer time, ministry.  What you put into your heart is what comes out in your life – is it love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, self-control or is it covetousness, deceit, envy, sensuality, slander, pride, foolishness, evil thoughts?

Leviticus 14, Mark 6 :30-56, Psalms 40 :1-10, Proverbs 10 :11-12

What God said to me – Have you ever had a teacher who made a great impact on your life and somehow the way they presented the material was in a way that you could understand?  A wise teacher understands that different people learn in different ways and so they change their methods based on their students – same material, just different methods.  Your relationship with Me is as a father and child, but it is also as a teacher and student.  I not only use this time together to fellowship with you, but to teach you as you read and study My word.  I use the circumstances of your life as methods and illustrations to reinforce all that “I AM” teaching you in My word.  One thing builds upon another as you grow and mature and learn and the things you encounter, and experience are opportunities for you to practice what “I AM” teaching you.  When you encounter situations that are different or frightening in your life and you don’t know what to do, stop and reflect on the things I have brought you through and what you learned.  Think about how you can apply past lessons to work through your present circumstances.  Remember your life is not just a series or random events, but it is a carefully thought-out plan I have for you to mature you and grow you and transform you.

Leviticus 13, Mark 6:1-29, Psalms 39:1-13, Proverbs 10:10

What God said to me – Technology can be wonderful, and it can be a curse depending on how it is used.  The same computer that can open up vast amounts of information for research and help can also open up much darkness and depravity.  An airplane can drop bombs that will destroy a city, or it can drop fire retardant to save one.  Your tongue is the same way – it can be an instrument of comfort and hope, or it can drop bombs and destroy lives.  It can share about Me and encourage others, or it can be profane and crude.  You must constantly guard your mouth because so much of the sin in your life is because of something you say whether intentionally or unintentionally.  There is a reason I said to be quick to hear and slow to speak.  Slow down and think before you speak, especially when you are angry or have been offended.  “I AM” always here so take a moment and seek My guidance before you respond and it will save you much heartache and regret later.
