Leviticus 6:1-7:27, Mark 3:7-30, Psalms 37:1-11, Proverbs 10:3-4

What God said to me – Remember the song “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”?  It sounds simplistic, naïve even, yet there is some truth to it.  People who constantly worry are not happy people.  They are constantly fretting about everything – violence in society – wars around the world – the economy – inflation – how they are going to get by – their kids – the future and on and on.  The one thing that is true of all people who worry, and fret is that their eyes are on themselves and their circumstances and not on Me.  It’s easy to fall into that trap when you are constantly bombarded with so much bad news.  So, how are you as My child to keep from falling into worrying and fretting?  You keep your eyes on Me.  When the farmer is plowing the field, he focuses on an object up ahead that is not moving so his row stays straight, and he stays on track.  “I AM” to always be the object of your focus.  Look to Me for direction.  Look to Me for hope.  Trust My sovereignty in your life and in the world and delight in My plan no matter what is happening in your life and in the world.  “I AM” the author and the finisher of your faith so I do what is necessary to grow you and transform you into the person I died for you to become.

Leviticus 4-5, Mark 2:13-3:6, Psalms 36:1-12, Proverbs 10:1-2

What God said to me – I created the world in six days and on the seventh day I rested.  I declared it the Sabbath, a day of rest that I set apart and sanctified.  So, what does that mean?  Do you think I actually need to rest?  Absolutely not!  I’m all powerful – I never tire.  I created the Sabbath for you.  I knew the frailty of mankind.  You can’t just keep going twenty-four seven and expect to keep going and perform well so I built in a time for you to rest and to worship and to fellowship and to minister to Me and other believers.  You should look forward to it with joy.  It is also a sign of My plan for the world.  Things are getting busier and busier, and the world is spiraling out of control.  The good news is that “I AM” coming again and when I do, I will establish My kingdom on earth, and it will be a Sabbath rest for My people to worship and to fellowship and to minister to Me and to other believers so look forward to it with joy.  “I AM” coming soon.

Leviticus 1-2, Marrk 1:29-2:12, Psalms 35:17-28, Proverbs 9:13-18

What God said to me – The world seems to be getting busier and busier.  It’s go, go, go all the time.  For some it’s work that consumes them, sometimes having more than one job.  For others it’s family activities – practices and games and events that go nonstop.  There are errands to be run and stuff to do around the house, not to mention church and involvement in ministries.  It’s easy to push this time with Me to the side because everything else feels so urgent.  When My Son was on the earth, there were many days when He was going hard all day and late into the night preaching and healing and ministering to the crowds of people.   How was He able to keep going with such a rigorous schedule and still be effective?  He understood the importance of this time alone with Me.  He would get up early to beat the crowds and get alone with Me to pray and to fellowship.  It was here that I taught Him and gave Him direction and revealed My plans to Him so He wouldn’t be distracted or take on more than He should.  If He needed this time alone with Me, how much more do you need it?  This is important – make it a priority.
