Judges 1-2

What God said to me – People are so fickle. They are easily swayed and easily distracted because they have no firm foundation in Me from which to draw strength to stand. Look at the world today and see how quickly the so-called church has compromised and transitioned to world values and not Mine. To stand strong and remain faithful you must know Me. You must raise your children and grandchildren to know Me. Israel failed to do this and so a generation arose where few knew Me and they fell away quickly. You see this same thing happening with the church today and a generation will be lost unless My people wake up. You must live for Me, speak of Me, and train up your children and grandchildren to know Me.

Joshua 22-24

What God said to me – You must constantly recount in your mind and with your mouth the things I have done for you – how I have led you – how I have provided for you – how I have loved you.  It is so easy for you to forget, especially when times are good.  You get busy and involved in the day to day of your life and you begin to drift away from Me.  Just as Joshua said – “choose you this day whom you will serve” – you must make that choice every day.  You must choose each day to walk with Me.  It takes effort to follow Me faithfully.  It takes daily commitment to turn to Me and ask for direction and guidance.  Remembering and recounting all I have done in the past will build your faith and help you to trust Me for the future.

Joshua 16-21

What God said to me – When I gave Israel the land that I had sworn to give them and it was divided among the twelve tribes, the Levites did not receive a specific territory as their inheritance.  They are My priests and “I AM” their inheritance.  Instead of a designated territory, I had each of the twelve tribes give them cities within their territories for them to live in.  You see even though My priests are chosen out of all the others to serve Me, I don’t want them separated from the people.  I want them living among them as examples, ministering and pointing them to Me.  It is the same for My church.  You are My priests and I don’t want you keeping to yourselves.  I want you living among and ministering to those around you.  I want you to be godly examples pointing to Me – drawing them to Me.
