Deuteronomy 5-7

What God said to me – I did not choose Israel to be Mine because they were the greatest nation or for anything they had done – I chose them because I loved them.  It is the same with you – I did not choose you for anything you had done – I chose you because I love you.  Never forget that.  You can never earn My love or keep it by “doing”.  Don’t fall into the trap that kind of thinking brings.  It will only frustrate you and make you feel inadequate.  Just walk with Me and listen to Me.  I will direct you in the way that pleases Me.  Quit trying so hard to be perfect and beating yourself up when you are not.  I will transform you into My image as you walk with Me.  You won’t even realize it is happening.

Deuteronomy 3-4

What God said to me – In the midst of all that is going on around you, hold fast to Me.  I know it is difficult and it hurts you to see the world turning away from Me – even members of your own family.  Know this however – “I AM” still in control.  I will never let you go or anyone else who belongs to Me.  Trust Me to take care of your family – I will draw them back.  You pray and be faithful to Me.  You cannot cause obedience in others, but you can pray and trust in Me.  Just as I scattered Israel among the nations and brought them back so I will deal with those you love and cause them to return.  You pray and trust.  I will draw and convict.

Deuteronomy 1-2

What God said to me – To walk with Me is to follow wherever I lead no matter how easy or how difficult the journey.  It is learning the lessons I set before you as you go.  There is always a lesson or preparation – even what seems to be down time is to give you time for restoration so you will be prepared for whatever comes next.  You must constantly be sensitive to what “I AM” saying to you and doing with you and around you.  Use the lulls in activity to spend extra time in My word and seeking Me so you will be prepared for what I have next for you.  Do not waste those times because you will need to be able to draw on all you learn during these times as you face difficulties and trials.
