Romans 8:1-39

What God said to me – You are My child.  My Spirit Himself testifies to the truth of this in your life.  Set your mind on Me and seek My Spirit’s direction.  We are there to lead you and to guide you and to give you life and peace in the midst of whatever you face.  Your obligation is to seek Me and to follow Me, Mine is to keep you and to transform you and at this I will not fail.  You are Mine and nothing can ever separate us.  Cling to this truth in the midst of your most difficult trials.  Don’t go by your feelings for they can be deceptive but hold onto this fact – nothing can ever separate us, and nothing can keep Me from working it for your good.

Romans 7:1-25

What God said to me – Quit striving and trying so hard and worrying about if you are pleasing Me in the things you do.  When I saved you, I set you free from the law so quit being legalistic.  I placed My Spirit within you, and He will guide you in all you should say or do.  Just follow His leading and you will please Me without a doubt.  I have set you free and so you are free indeed!  One thing that means is that you are free to quit following rules and just walk with Me as I direct.  You’ll find that you are following the rules and obeying the law but without the frustration and guilt.  Don’t look at the law, look at Me and follow where I lead.

Romans 6:1-23

What God said to me – To walk with Me according to the world’s view is paradoxical and goes against every instinct of the flesh – to live you must die, to be set free you must become a slave.  They desire the abundant life and so go full out after the things of the world and yet gain no satisfaction.  You know better and yet it is still a choice for you each day.  To live for Me, you must die to self and all that means.  As you learn to do that each day you will experience a life that is vibrant and satisfying for you will see Me and you will experience the freedom that comes from being wholly devoted to serving Me and pleasing Me.
