Isaiah 54:1-55:13

What God said to me – You spend so much time and so much money on temporal things . . . things which will not last or satisfy you.  You need to devote yourself to the eternal for this will not only satisfy you now, but it will last.  Listen to Me . . .  spend much time in My word.  Not only will this sustain you, but it will also bring you much delight . . . joy unspeakable.  You will indeed go out in joy and be led forth in peace.  My thoughts and ways are so much higher than yours that there are things that would not even occur to you unless I told you.  That is why you must always be listening to Me.  The things you need to do in order to please Me and glorify Me are not things you would come up with on your own.  Turn to Me and listen.

Isaiah 50:1-53:12

What God said to me – I wake you each morning eager to talk to you . . . eager to have you talk to Me.  Each day I long to instruct you, to give you direction, and to share My heart with you.  I have opened your ears to hear Me.  Listen carefully to what I have to say for My words bring life and healing, correction and encouragement.  Let your words be the same.  Let Me instruct your tongue . . . tell you what to say.  Don’t speak hastily.  Don’t speak flippantly.  It is better to keep silent than to be destructive or abusive.  “I AM” with you always.  Stop and turn to Me before you speak.  Rely on Me for the right thing to say or do.  I will put My words in your mouth.

Isaiah 43:1-49:26

What God said to me – Come near Me and listen.  “I AM” the Lord your God who teaches you what is best for you and directs you in the way you should go.  I direct you day by day, moment by moment.  In your daily routine and in the responsibilities I’ve given you in your family, in your job, in your church, seek Me constantly.  Ask Me for direction – “do I do this now or that?”  Let Me set your schedule and priorities.  I know there are things you have to get done.  Don’t go about them on your own and then try to fit Me in.  Let Me help you in all things.  I gave you responsibilities and obligations to use to teach you, to demonstrate My faithfulness, and to build your faith.  Don’t think of them as separate from me – turn to Me for advice and help.  “I AM” your friend.
