Ecclesiastes 4:1-5:20

What God said to me – Stand in awe.  Stand in awe.  Come into My presence and stand in awe for “I AM” your God.  “I AM” holy and righteous and good.  “I AM” worthy of all praise and honor.  Come into My presence and listen to Me for I have much I wish to share with you.  So few of My children come in awe to hear Me speak – most come chattering away, never stopping long enough to actually hear Me speak.  I’m not Santa for you to come to with your list of selfish wants.  “I AM” your Father and “I AM” always eager to hear you pour out your heart – for you to share with Me your good news, your hurts, your struggles, your questions.  You must remember, however, that I have much to say to you that will help you deal with all of those things, but you must stop and listen.

Ecclesiastes 2:1-3:22

What God said to me – I have set eternity in the hearts of men so they would seek Me.  Deep within the hearts of men they long for Me.  The problem is that most people seek to satisfy that longing with the temporal and not the eternal.  As you walk with Me and seek Me each day, I will begin to turn your heart away from temporal things to eternal things, things that are important, things that last.  As you set your mind on Me, you will find your focus shifting from what you should eat, what you should wear, where you should live, to filling up on the Bread of Life, putting on the robes of righteousness and living with Me each moment of the day.  The temporal is but fluff – blow on it and it is gone.  Set your mind on the eternal.  Set your mind on Me.

Proverbs 28:1-Eccelesisastes 1:1-18

What God said to me – How do you live a life pleasing to Me?  Live it according to My word.  My word is flawless, and it will be a shield about you to protect you . . . to give you refuge – to teach you about Me.  Evaluate everything in the light of My word.  It will give you perspective – My perspective.  So much of what you see about you and encounter daily is meaningless.  It is smoke and mirrors that the enemy uses to distract you from Me and to keep you from an eternal focus.  The way you can cut through it all so you can see what truly matters is to put it up against My word.  There really is nothing new under the sun.  The enemy just constantly re-packages sin so it looks brighter and shinier and more appealing.  My word will help you to see through all of that so you can focus on Me.
