1 Samuel 20-21, John 9, Psalms 113:1-114:8, Proverbs 15:15-17

What God said to me – The cancel culture is not new – it is a weapon that has been used for centuries to quiet those who disagree with political or religious leaders or even society in general.  When My Son, Jesus, healed the man who had been born blind from birth, the Pharisees interrogated him because his healing was on the sabbath.  Then they called in his parents who dodged their questions because anyone who confessed that Jesus was the Christ was put out of the synagogue – for the Jews that was devastating because their lives centered around the synagogue and their religion.  Their son was put out of the synagogue because his life was so changed by his encounter with Jesus that he refused to back down no matter what it cost him.  As the end approaches, walking with Me will become more and more difficult.  As society becomes increasingly ungodly and accepting of sin as normal, anyone who stands against it is in danger of rejection and cancelation and even physical attack.  Count the cost.  Are you willing to take a stand?

1 Samuel 18:2-19:24, John 8:31-59, Psalms 112:1-10, Proverbs 15:12-14

What God said to me – Are you a believer or a disciple of Mine?  The thief on the cross who was saved was a believer, but not a disciple.  A disciple is more than just a believer, they are a student, a learner – someone who follows or adheres to the teachings of the one they follow.  In order to be My disciple, you have to continue in My word.  So, how much time do you actually spend in My word reading, studying, memorizing, or meditating on it?  One of the reasons so many believers struggle in their walks is because they are believers, not disciples.  The truth can only set you free if you know what it is.  My word is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.  It takes diligence to accurately handle it.  This lifelong conversation, this time we spent together each day is part of your discipleship.  In order to adhere to My teachings, you have to know what My word says so don’t neglect it and you’ll be a workman who won’t be ashamed because you’ll be able to accurately handle My word.  You’ll be a true disciple and follower of Mine and not just a believer.

1 Samuel 17:1-18:4, John 8:21-30, Psalms 111:1-10, Proverbs 15:11

What God said to me – Walking in a manner worthy of your calling is not just the things you do, but it is also the things you think and say.  I have done so many great works and provided you with so many wonderful things that you see and use and enjoy every day.  As you are going throughout your day as part of this ongoing conversation learn to look at everything you see or use or encounter as something “I AM” using to bless you or to teach you and express gratitude or your awe or to ask for understanding.  All creation speaks of My glory and power.  As great as technology is and the inventions and modern conveniences you use every day, “I AM” the one who gave the intelligence and talent and curiosity and ability to bring them all about.  People from past times would be in awe of the things you use every day and take for granted.  So, each day stop and look around you and express your gratitude and awe and wonder at all of my works and the kindness and goodness I showed you in allowing you to experience them.
