Genesis 47-48, Job 29, 1 Peter 3

What God said to me – No matter what season of life you find yourself in, there is never a bad time to reflect – to look at where you are – not just physically, but spiritually.  Use this time of reflection to honestly assess your life and goals and direction.  Seek Me and let My Spirit show you and teach you.  As He reveals to you where you have been and where you are, seek His direction as to where I want you to go and changes I want you to make. Your walk with Me should never be static.  You never “arrive”.  You never mature completely or arrive at perfection.  There are untold depths to Me and our relationship and you will spend eternity discovering My glory.

Genesis 46, Job 28, 1 Peter 1:22-25, 2

What God said to me – You are not just My child, but you are also My priest, set apart to serve Me and to worship Me.  The way you speak, the way you live and conduct yourself should show that you are set apart for Me and separate from the world.  You are a part of My royal priesthood.  This does not mean that you should withdraw from society and never interact with the world.  On the contrary, your responsibility is to proclaim who “I AM” and how I called you out of the darkness and into My light.  Your behavior should be above reproach in the world.  You should be known by your diligence and honesty and kindness.  There should be no question that you are My child.

Genesis 44-45, Job 27, 1 Peter 1

What God said to me – Do you rejoice in the various trials which even now distress you?  When you are in the midst of a trial, you can only rejoice when you have the proper perspective – a perspective of faith and trust that all I allow you to go through is for your good and My glory – a faith that understands that if “I AM” allowing you to go through a trying and difficult time it is necessary to accomplish My plan for you.  When you can view your circumstances from this perspective –  an eternal perspective – My perspective – you can truly experience joy in the midst of it and express gratitude for it.   It is not easy.  It takes absolute faith in Me and My sovereignty and this daily conversation and time with Me is an integral part in reaching that level of faith and maturity.
