Genesis 42-43, Job 26, Mark 16

What God said to me – You’ve heard it said that I work in mysterious ways and to some extent that’s true.  My ways are not your ways – My ways are higher than your ways.  You can dream up amazing scenarios as to how I will answer your prayers or you can come up with the most outlandish outcomes when you worry about trials or difficult circumstances.  Rarely do any of your vain imaginations come true – so quit!  Quit worrying because none of the things are in your control.  Quit daydreaming about ways I will answer your prayers.  Quit stewing and pray.  Quit worrying and trust – trust that My timing is perfect.  Trust that My answers are the best outcomes to bring glory to My name and peace to your life.  When you find yourself straying in your mind with worry and speculation – stop and pray – stop and praise.  “I AM” able to do exceedingly abundantly more than you ask or think.

Genesis 41, Job 25, Mark 15:33-47

What God said to me – No one’s life is without darkness, even those who are Mine.  There will be times when you feel lost and alone or sad and without hope.  Just remember those are just feelings and not truth.  Feelings are fickle and subject to constant change.  Feelings are temporal because they are based on circumstances.  “I AM” eternal and I never change.  When you experience darkness remember “I AM” the light of the world.  When you feel lost and alone remember I will never leave you or forsake you.  When you are sad and without hope remember My joy is your strength and your hope is in Me and not your present circumstances.  Weeping may last for the night, but joy comes in the morning and “I AM” the bright and morning star.  Look to Me for “I AM” your joy and hope in the midst of the most difficult circumstances.

Genesis 40, Job 24, Mark 15:1-32

What God said to me – If I never answered your prayers the way you wanted Me to, would you still love Me and serve Me?  Do you have peace and joy because your life is good or because of your relationship with Me?  The answer to those two questions says a lot about your walk with Me and your maturity as a believer.  If you are up and down based on how I answer your prayers then you need to stop and examine yourself.  Where is your trust?  What is the basis for your faith?  When I don’t “come through” on a particular prayer when you think I should, your response says volumes.  When you truly believe in My sovereignty and in My desire to do what is best for you, then your response should always be the same.  Trust.  Joy.  Can you say with Job, the Lord gives and the Lord takes away – blessed be the name of the Lord?
