1 Kings 2-3, Psalms 119:49-64, John 5:1-30

What God said to me – You turn on the news or read online and you think how in the world has society come to this – how has it descended into so much ungodliness so quickly – how in the world are people as a whole so deluded and not seeing or understanding it for what it is?  Like the psalmist you cry out that the cords of wickedness have encircled you and there is no way out.  This is the time to take heart and to stand firm on My unchanging word.  Stay in My word for that is where I will revive your heart and you will find hope.  I will be gracious to you according to My word.  When the arrogant deride you for your beliefs and patronize you for your unsophisticated, old fashioned morals, stand strong knowing that “I AM” with you and “I AM” pleased by you.  Remember that you are just a pilgrim here and this world is not your home.

1 Kings 1, Psalms 119:33-48, John 4:25-54

What God said to me – Are you a sower or a reaper?  If you are living a life that is pleasing to Me, you are at least a sower.  All of My children in some way should be sowers investing your life in those I bring into your sphere of influence by your example and service and by sharing My word – encouraging and teaching and warning as may be necessary and praying diligently for them.  Sowing is not easy – it requires diligence and persistence and patience and sometimes bluntness to break up the hard ground of someone’s heart but don’t give up.  “I AM” faithful to call those who are Mine and to draw those I have chosen.  You be courageous and love them enough to share the good news and demonstrate a godly lifestyle.  Leave the rest up to Me.

2 Samuel 24, Psalms 119:17-32, John 4:1-26

What God said to me – You are living in a world filled with disease and natural disasters occurring one after another as well as financial instability and crime and wars. People have become so “intelligent” and “sophisticated” that they just attribute these things to global warming or racial injustice or income inequality rather than for what they are – judgment for their sin and turning away from Me. To say out loud that it is the judgment of God is primitive and superstitious and you would be ridiculed openly. However, look at the covenant I made with Israel – I promised them blessing if they followed Me and worshipped Me and judgment if they did not. The judgment I promised them for turning away from Me is all of the horrible things you see happening in the world today. So consider that maybe all of these bad things happening worldwide are My judgment and My attempt to get people’s attention so they will repent and turn to Me before it is too late. Understanding this should change the way you pray for your nation and the world.
