Ecclesiastes 4-6, 2 Corinthians 6:14-7:7, Psalms 47:1-9, Proverbs 22:16

What God said to me – In most cases to be “chosen” is a very special thing, whether it is to be chosen for a team, or chosen for a part, or chosen for a job – in these cases, the people being chosen had to qualify in some way and they were chosen based on certain criteria whether it was athletic ability, or talent for acting, or having the education and experience for the job.  That’s what makes it so remarkable that I chose you to be My child.  There were no criteria or qualifications – just My choice.  There was nothing you did or could or would do to affect My choice.  I chose you when you were yet a sinner and saved you by grace through faith and that wasn’t even yours – I gave you the faith to believe!  “I AM” a Father to those I have chosen and adopted as sons and daughters.  If you spend any time at all reflecting on this truth, it will change the way you walk and live and worship.

Ecclesiastes 1-3, 2 Corinthians 6:1-13, Psalms 46:1-11, Proverbs 22:15

What God said to me – When things get difficult – when times get tough – when you get bad news – when things fall apart – where do you run?  Do you run to your family?  Friends?  Attorney?  Banker?  Broker?  What about when someone comes to you with these kinds of difficulties or tragedies, what is your response?  Do you give them advice or direct them to people who can help them, or do you say, “let’s pray”.  “I AM” your refuge and strength.  A very present help in times of trouble.  In every situation, bad or good, I should be your first stop.  Come to Me with everything at any time.  “I AM” always here and always available and often times just waiting for you to come to the realization that you need My help.  So, whether it’s, “Abba help me” or “thank you Lord”, come, “I AM” waiting.

Job 40-42, 2 Corinthians 5:1-21, Psalms 5:1-17, Proverbs 22:14

What God said to me – There is an old movie called “Shallow Hal” about a shallow, superficial guy who only sees and judges people based on their outward appearance until he is hypnotized by his therapist so he begins to see people who are nice and kind and good as beautiful and people who are mean and cruel and unkind as ugly no matter what their outward appearance actually was.  The question is, “how do you view people?”  Do you judge them or accept them based on appearance?  Are they attractive or successful?  Are they like you?  When I saved you, I made you a new creation – old things have passed away, and new things have come.  You don’t want to be seen or judged based on who you were before I saved you so don’t judge others that way.  Ask Me to give you a heart that sees people the way I see them.  Your behavior, your attitude, and your demeanor are always a witness, whether good or bad.  You are My ambassador in the world so never forget that you represent Me to those you interact with so walk in a manner worthy of your calling and glorify Me.
