Genesis 37-39, Psalms 13

What God said to me – Success is not measured by your circumstances but in how you do in whatever circumstances you are in – do you serve Me . . . seek Me . . . trust Me in desperate situations as well as you do in pleasant ones?  All of your complaints and gripes and murmurings are only evidence that you don’t.  I want you to act and react the very same way to good and bad, hard times and prosperous times.  Walk with Me.  Talk to Me.  Follow Me.  Then and only then will you be successful.

Genesis 33-36, Psalms 12

What God said to me – “I AM” the God who answers you in the day of your distress and Who is with you wherever you go.  “I AM” right here now waiting for you, desiring a relationship with you – a relationship, not an acquaintance.  To have a real relationship we must spend time together – quality time – sharing time – fun time.  Set up a marker at this place – a pillar to remember this place where I talked to you.  Come back often – “I AM” waiting.

Genesis 30-32, Psalms 11

What God said to me – As you look around you see that the very foundations of moral society are being destroyed.  Like the psalmist you cry out, “what can the righteous do?”  Your heart breaks and you feel helpless, concerned for your children’s future and their children’s future.  That’s when you need to stop and look up.  Look to Me and remember that “I AM” in My holy temple and “I AM” still on My throne in heaven.  My eyes behold all that is happening – nothing has caught Me by surprise.  “I AM” sovereign and even the most ungodly cannot thwart My plan.  You must cling to righteousness and walk in a manner worthy of your calling – you must be transformed, not conformed.  Just because the world says  some sin is now “okay” doesn’t mean it is “okay” for you.  As time goes by the gap between the righteous and the wicked is becoming more and more obvious.  You cling to what is good.  “I AM” righteous and I love righteousness.  The upright are the ones who will behold My face.
