Ezekiel 23-24

What God said to me – Judgment should never come as a surprise and yet it always does. I give ample warnings and opportunities for repentance but they are ignored and neglected. People go their own way because they love their sin and hate Me. They think their refusal to acknowledge Me makes Me nonexistent. It’s like a child who closes their eyes and because he can’t see, he thinks no one can see him. “I AM” all seeing, ever present and all knowing. No one can hide their sin from Me. Judgment is coming whether people acknowledge Me or not. The question for My children is this – are you living in such a way that you will not be ashamed at My coming?

Ezekiel 21-22

What God said to me – When My judgment finally fell on Israel, one reason was because her priests profaned what was holy as much as the world did.  They did not teach the difference between what was clean and unclean so they were no different than anyone else and they lost their influence and witness.  My people are My priests in the world today.  Do you keep holy in the midst of the ungodliness around you?  Do you proclaim the difference between what’s clean and unclean even in the midst of a perverse society?  It’s not easy when all around you is ungodliness and corruption.    The world needs those who are willing to stand in the gap and pray and only those who walk in holiness with Me can do that.

Ezekiel 18-20

What God said to me – My people are My people now and forever. If you are truly My child there is nothing you can say or do to change that – I will never disinherit you. If you move away from Me in sin you may feel like “I AM” no longer with you or that I have abandoned you, but I have not. I may give you over to your sin for a time so you will experience the full depravity and horror that comes with it in order to bring you to a place where you turn back to Me, but I will never abandon you. But the truth is, the further you fall away from Me, the harder and longer the road is to come back. You may experience lifelong consequences from your disobedience – even shame that never quite leaves you, but you will be forgiven and our relationship restored. My desire for you though is to never experience these things so stay close to Me – then our relationship never has to be restored, but it will grow stronger and closer each day.
