Judges 13-18

What God said to me – During the time of the judges, every man did what was right in his own eyes for there was no king in Israel.  They didn’t realize that I was to be their king.  They turned from Me and went their own way.  The ways of men, however, are not My ways so when you go your own way, you move away from Me.  When you cease looking at Me as king and cease seeking My leadership and direction in your life, you automatically go your own way and fall away from Me.  The world has gone their own way and done what is right in their own eyes for so long, evil and darkness have become the norm.  You must stay close to Me and listen and obey to keep from falling into that trap.  It looks enticing, but the end is death and judgment.

Judges 8-12

What God said to me – The children of Israel were a fickle people.  They continually wavered between Me and the world.  They would be drawn into sin and serve the gods of the people around them, but when they were afflicted, they would cry out to Me to save them.  They would turn back to Me temporarily and promise to obey.  After I saved them and their lives went back to “normal”, they would begin to slip away again.  Those who claim to be My children, My church, are much the same today.  They slip into the world and approve their sin but when disaster strikes, they cry out to Me.  Don’t be one of those.  Be wholly devoted to Me.  Let Me cleanse you and bind your heart to Me.

Judges 6-7

What God said to me – Just like Gideon you live in the midst of an evil and perverse generation where even those who say they are Mine do evil in My sight.  But just like Gideon, I can use you to accomplish great things.  I have a plan for you that “I AM” accomplishing in your life.  It may not be to lead an army and send thousands fleeing before you, but if you obey and follow Me, you can accomplish much for My kingdom in the arena in which I have placed you.  If only My people realized the power they have in prayer, they would quit doing and start praying.  The enemy you face is not ungodly people or society and you will never prevail in a physical war.  You must devote yourself to prayer and fasting and seeking My face.  Mountains will move.  Evil will flee.  You will please Me.
