Joshua 16-21

What God said to me – When I gave Israel the land that I had sworn to give them and it was divided among the twelve tribes, the Levites did not receive a specific territory as their inheritance.  They are My priests and “I AM” their inheritance.  Instead of a designated territory, I had each of the twelve tribes give them cities within their territories for them to live in.  You see even though My priests are chosen out of all the others to serve Me, I don’t want them separated from the people.  I want them living among them as examples, ministering and pointing them to Me.  It is the same for My church.  You are My priests and I don’t want you keeping to yourselves.  I want you living among and ministering to those around you.  I want you to be godly examples pointing to Me – drawing them to Me.

Joshua 12-15

What God said to me – I made a promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob to give their descendants a land for their possession forever.  I fulfilled My promises and brought them to the land and it was divided very specifically among the tribes.  Some of them settled and went their own way and some of the settled and continued pursuing Me wholeheartedly.  Look at the example of Caleb – he never stopped.  Even when he was old he vigorously followed Me.  You see how long you have served and how hard you have served is never an excuse to stop serving.  I long for those who continually serve Me and are always looking for what I have for them to do.  I use those who are available and desirous to serve Me.  Your walk with Me never ends, it only transitions.  Some of My greatest servants are those who can no longer go physically so they devote themselves to prayer and encouragement.

Joshua 9-11

What God said to me – You can be easily deceived by people and by circumstances, but I cannot.  I see all and know all.  I know what has been and what will be.  That is why you must seek My counsel for everything.  Nothing is too small.  The Gibeonites deceived Israel because Israel did not seek My counsel.  They trusted what they saw and heard and made a decision that was irrevocable because they acted on their own.  Just because you have an abundance of information doesn’t mean you should step out on your own.  Seek Me in everything.  I will not lead you astray.  I don’t hide from those who earnestly seek Me.  “I AM” always here to hear from My children.
