Genesis 50, Exodus 1:1-2:10, Matthew 16:13-17:9, Psalms 21:1-13, Proverbs 5:1-6

What God said to me – Have you ever watched a movie with a convoluted plot that was difficult to follow but at the end there was a surprise plot twist where you finally understood, and all the pieces fell into place?  My word was like that with the disciples.  After Peter stated unequivocally that I was the Christ, the Son of the living God, I began to teach the disciples about how I was going to Jerusalem to suffer and be killed and be raised on the third day, but they didn’t really understand what it all meant until later.  Peter even tried to refute what I told him.  After the resurrection, all of the pieces fell into place, and they understood what I had been telling them and what scripture had actually prophesied.  There will be times when you read and study My word that you don’t get it – you just can’t understand.  But don’t get discouraged or disregard it.  Keep studying and meditating on it and seeking illumination from My Spirit.  There will come a time when it will all click, and you’ll understand.  There are some truths that take time and patience and diligence so keep digging and asking the Helper to teach you and give you wisdom and understanding.  In the process I will knit your heart to Mine and give you a love and hunger for My word.

Genesis 48-49, Matthew 15:29-16:12, Psalms 20:1-9, Proverbs 4:20-27

What God said to me – People, even My children, spend so much more time on the physical than on the spiritual.  You jump on the latest fad diet or exercise craze or things that are good for your heart health or brain health or things to make you look younger or fitter.  Think about how much money you spend and how much time you spend working on or thinking about your physical appearance or health or bemoaning the fact that you are not thinner or stronger or healthier.  Physical fitness and good health are not bad things.  You need to take care of yourself, so you are able to minister as I direct and go where I call you, but don’t let appearance and health become such a focus of your life that you neglect the things that are truly important.  Pay attention to My word and your time with Me.  My word is the most important, life changing thing you can consume.  You can transform your body into a temple of physical strength and health, but if My Spirit doesn’t transform your heart, it means nothing.  Your body is going to decay and pass away, but your spiritual life is eternal – make that your focus.

Genesis 46-47, Matthew 15:1-28, Psalms 19:1-4, Proverbs 4:14-19

What God said to me – Have you ever played the game ”Tell me you’re from Oklahoma without telling me you’re from Oklahoma” or “Tell me you’re a parent without telling me you’re a parent”?  It’s a silly game where you describe what you are without saying what you are.  “I AM” Almighty God – Creator of the universe and all that exists.  People can know that without ever hearing someone say it.  The heavens are telling of My glory, and their expanse  is declaring the work of My hands.  Without one word being spoken, people can know that “I AM” just by looking around at My creation.  Now what about you?  Can people know that you are My child just by the way you live?  Are you so godly in your walk that people know you are Mine?  Do you walk in holiness and kindness and love?  That’s not to say that you should never tell people about Me or witness verbally to them about who “I AM” and what I have done in your life, but if you are walking in a manner worthy of your calling, then people will know that you are different – your speech is different – your actions are different – your attitudes are different.  Does your life tell them that you are My child without you telling them you are My child?  It should.
