Lamentations 3-5

What God said to me – There are times when you pray that I seem far away and removed from your circumstances.  You feel like your prayer is not getting through and your soul is bowed down and troubled within you.  When you come to this place remember – remember who “I AM”.  Remember that I have a plan that “I AM” carrying out that is for your good and My glory.  Remember that My mercies never cease.  Remember that My faithfulness is great and My timing is perfect.  Although you cannot see, there is much that “I AM” doing behind the scenes in preparation so your prayer can be answered.  Don’t grow weary.  Keep praying.

Lamentations 1-2

What God said to me – Jerusalem was destroyed and Judah went into captivity as discipline and judgment from Me.  The people did not consider their future but lived as they wanted “today”.  As they lived each day for the gratification of the moment, they moved farther and farther from Me.  They were prosperous and enjoying life without ever acknowledging their blessings were all from Me.  They succumbed to the false illusion that they could take care of themselves, come what may.  Judgment came not just to punish them, but to bring them back to Me – so they could understand that “I AM” their future and their hope.  It is so easy to fall into this “prosperity” and “good times” trap.  You must stay on guard, especially in the good times.  You must walk closely with Me so you will not be sucked into that way of life.  I said that pride goes before the fall for a reason.  Never forget that all you are and have is from Me.  Stay humble and grateful.
