2 Samuel 1-3

What God said to me – You may not like what you see when you look at your country and see the state of decay and leaders who do not seek Me or know Me, but know this – there is no one in power whom I have not allowed to be there.  Take comfort knowing that “I AM” in control and I have put them there to accomplish My purpose and My plan.  This does not mean that you passively accept evil for you must always take a stand for what is right and good.  Your priority is to pray and to seek Me and to walk with Me in the midst of this evil society.  The weapons of your warfare are not physical, but spiritual.  You fight for Me on your knees and in My word.  You may not see much change, but things will happen.  I will be glorified and My purposes accomplished.

I Samuel 28-31

What God said to me – When David was facing a great trial and distress, he strengthened himself in Me because he knew I was the source of all he needed.  Where do you turn when you encounter difficulties, and you are overwhelmed?  Do you seek the counsel and strength of others, or do you turn to Me?  The answer to that question reveals your heart and faith.  Are you wholly devoted to Me?  Do you really trust that all that happens in your life is for your good and My glory?  If you want to be able to respond correctly when you encounter various trials and difficulties you must stay close to Me and walk with Me in everyday occurrences.  If you cannot be faithful in the day to day, you will fall when times get tough.  The day to day walk with Me prepares you for all you will encounter later.  Be diligent.  Remain faithful.

1 Samuel 25-27

What God said to me – It is possible to live in this world and not be of this world, but it is difficult.  The only way you can accomplish this is by staying close to Me and by being in My word.  Your focus must remain on Me or you will gradually be sucked into the world as you begin to compromise.  It is a constant battle because the enemy wants what is Mine and takes great delight when My children fall.  You must be on alert at all times and sensitive and responsive to My Spirit as I guide you and convict you.  You must allow Me to cleanse your mind and bind your heart to Me.  This can only be accomplished by much prayer and time spent in My word.  You must be diligent and faithful in order to persevere.  Never forget “I AM” with you always.
