2 Samuel 22-24

What God said to me – You must constantly be on guard not to slip into sin or move away from Me. It is easy to do, especially when things are going well.  When the battle is over and you’ve seen a great victory it’s natural to let down your guard – to enjoy the peace – to rest and relax.  The problem is that is the time the enemy comes after you.  While you’re basking in the peace and victory, the enemy attacks and you don’t even realize he has slipped in.  You must stay on guard always so you don’t give him a foothold in your life whether is is through pride or complacency.  Use these periods of peace and rest to prepare.  Spend more time in My word and in prayer.  Let Me use this time to build you up and prepare you or the enemy will use this time to cause you to fall.

2 Samuel 19-21

What God said to me – You have probably never heard of Barzillai.  There is not much written about him in My word.  He’s not known for his great exploits.  He’s not mentioned in Sunday School as a mighty man of God and yet he played an important role in My plan.  He was an eighty-year-old man who sustained David and those with him as he ran for his life from Absalom.  He was a faithful child of Mine who I used to accomplish My purpose and his faithfulness affected generations to come.  It doesn’t matter your age – whether you are young or old.  I use those who are willing and faithful.  The things I call you to do may seem to be of little consequence at the time and you may feel like you are no one important but your faithfulness has an eternal effect.  My plans are carried out and “I AM” pleased with you.

2 Samuel 16-18

What God said to me – When you have trials or obstacles or difficulties in your life, cry out to Me for “ I AM” always close, ready to help or to comfort or to give you strength.  Take comfort that “I AM” accomplishing My plan in your life and in the world.  Even when the circumstances seem impossible never forget that “I AM” sovereign.  Nothing can thwart My plan or change My love for you.  I will grow your faith and bring glory to My name as you walk through the difficulties facing you.    There are times when you find yourself facing challenges and there is absolutely nothing you can do to change your circumstances.  I know how difficult it is to stay still and trust Me to work on your behalf knowing apart from My intervention all is lost.  This is when you must cling to Me knowing I love you and My plan is perfect.
