1 Kings 12-14

What God said to me – People always think when something “bad” happens it was caused by Satan and they begin to ask Me to intervene or to reverse it or to fix it.   What people should do is ask Me how they should pray and ask how they should respond or ask Me what “I AM” doing.  Israel split into the Northern Kingdom and the Southern Kingdom because Rehoboam listened to bad counsel and did not listen to the people.  My word tells you it was a turn of events from Me so My word would be fulfilled.  This “bad” thing was in My plan for Israel and ultimately for you because when Israel rejected Me, I took for Myself a new people – the church.  As you see so much bad happening around you, come to Me to see how you should pray and respond.  “I AM” carrying out My plan for the world to come to fruition in all that is happening.  You may experience difficulties as a result of it but rejoice for “I AM” in control.

1 Kings 10-11

What God said to me – To continually walk with Me from the time I call you until the end is a difficult thing.  It takes commitment and perseverance.  It is so easy to get off track and move away and yet so much harder to return.  I have placed you in the world so you might lift Me up and draw people to Me, but you are not to be of the world where they begin to influence your behavior and attitudes.  Solomon took many wives from idolatrous nations in disobedience to My commands and he allowed their influence to turn his heart from being wholly devoted to Me.  The result was judgment, not just on him, but on an entire nation.  Sin rarely affects only the one who sins but has long reaching results.  Guard your heart and mind and stay close to Me, knowing your sin can affect not just you, but your family and friends and church and nation.

1 Kings 8-9

What God said to me – When Solomon dedicated the temple, he prayed not just for Israel, but also for all the foreigners who would hear of My great name and all I did for My people and come to Israel to find Me and worship Me. Solomon understood that I called Israel to be Mine, not just for their sake, but for My sake and the sake of others.  My plan was to bless the world through Israel so others would be drawn to Me as they saw My relationship with Israel.  But they failed miserably and became prideful believing I called them because of who they were.  So I turned to another people, to My church and used them to reach the world and draw people to Me as they lifted Me up.  How are you doing in this regard?  I chose you not just for your sake, but for My sake and for the sake of others.
