1 Kings 21-22

What God said to me – Not all counsel is godly not even from those who claim to be Mine.  That is why you must know Me.  You must know My voice.  If My Spirit pricks you so you think something is not quite right, stop.  Come to Me for counsel because I will never mislead you.  Don’t trust someone’s counsel because they are eloquent or because they claim to have a word from Me.  Test every spirit.  Bring everything to Me and My Spirit will confirm what you should do.  When My children ask Me for wisdom, I eagerly give it.  You must learn My voice.  I will speak to you and direct you.  I will use My word to confirm My will for you.  I will not let you miss My will.

1 Kings 18-20

What God said to me – People are like sheep – they follow the crowd.  Most won’t speak up even for what is right and good or against what is wrong and evil. They fear the judgment of the crowd.  Their fear of embarrassment or alienation is greater than their love for Me.  When Elijah asked them to choose between Me and Baal, they were silent, not willing to take a stand until they knew what everyone else was going to do.  What about you?  Is your testimony of Me and My righteousness and faithfulness dependent on your audience?  Do you speak freely about Me when you are with your “church” friends but bite your tongue at work or when you’re with a group you’re not sure about.  You must learn to be steadfast in your walk and testimony.  Your actions or non-actions should not be based on your audience, but on who “I AM” and what I tell you to say or do.

1 Kings 15-17

What God said to me – Belonging to Me doesn’t exempt you from the tragedies of life or its trials and difficulties or even its little annoyances.  These things are all a part of living in a fallen world and cannot be avoided.  What belonging to Me does do is give you the wherewithal to walk through them with grace and peace knowing that “I AM” in control – knowing that “I AM” at work even when you don’t see or understand.  Little by little, step by step “I AM” using everything in your life, both big and small, both good and bad to transform you into My image and teach you what it means to truly walk with Me.  Don’t just wait until this time alone to come to Me – do it step by step, moment by moment as you are going.
