Deuteronomy 8-10

What God said to me – All that you are and have comes from Me.  Never forget that.  Never forget to express gratitude.  Never forget that “I AM” your source, not just for material blessing, but for peace and joy and love.  Israel forgot these truths and looked to themselves – looked at their own weaknesses and not at My strength.  They failed to be thankful for My provision and care and did not trust Me to be all they needed.  Learn from their failures – learn from the way I disciplined them – learn to trust Me – learn to look to Me for all you need.  Make Me your first stop, not your last.  Stay close to Me.  Don’t wander because straying always leads you away from Me.

Deuteronomy 5-7

What God said to me – I did not choose Israel to be Mine because they were the greatest nation or for anything they had done – I chose them because I loved them.  It is the same with you – I did not choose you for anything you had done – I chose you because I love you.  Never forget that.  You can never earn My love or keep it by “doing”.  Don’t fall into the trap that kind of thinking brings.  It will only frustrate you and make you feel inadequate.  Just walk with Me and listen to Me.  I will direct you in the way that pleases Me.  Quit trying so hard to be perfect and beating yourself up when you are not.  I will transform you into My image as you walk with Me.  You won’t even realize it is happening.
