Titus 1-3, Philemon 1

What God said to me – The news is full of stories of cruelty and evil and absolute rejection of all things holy and godly.  I know it is discouraging to My children as darkness seems to be overtaking every area of society.  Your natural inclination is to either give up or to hunker down and stay shielded from it all.  But I have not called you to concede defeat or to isolate yourself from the world.  I called you to be in the world but not of it. I called you to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly and righteously and godly in the present age.  I put you in this time and place for a reason.  Light is necessary to accomplish My purpose and glorify My name and draw others to Me so let your light shine.  Don’t despair but rather be looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of My glory.

2 Timothy 1-4

What God said to me – My people are without excuse.  I have given them My word and My Spirit to live within them and yet most spend little time in My word and ignore the prompting of My Spirit.  That is why they are so susceptible to compromising with the world and rejecting a life of holiness and godliness.  The constant bombardment of ungodliness and evil in television and movies and on the internet can wear you down if you have not been anchored to Me by My word and Spirit.  It is easy to fall for lies when you don’t know the truth.  You must take hold of My word and be diligent to study it.  It will teach you and train you and help you discern right from wrong, good from evil, and holiness from ungodliness.  Avoid the ungodliness promoted by the world and devote yourself to My word instead for it is a treasure I have entrusted to you so you can live in a manner worthy of your calling.

1 Timothy 1-6

What God said to me – I know you long for My coming and the judgment of all the evil that is overtaking the world but don’t grow impatient because I will bring these things about at the proper time.  In the meantime, you fight the good fight of faith, for that is what it is – a fight.  You are in a continual battle against the flesh and forces of evil in this world constantly bombarding you.  It would be easy to compromise so you could experience some relief from the constant pressure you feel and the voices that talk about love and acceptance and not judging.  However these voices of the world system have no ides what true love and acceptance are all about.  The very things they tell you not to be judgmental of are the very things that will bring about their judgment.  By your faithfulness and good fight you are taking hold of the eternal life to which you were called.  Hold fast to your confession.
