1 Corinthians 12-14

What God said to me – Your service to Me must be out of love – love for Me and love for others.  When I saved you I called you to ministry – to Me and to others – and I gifted you to be able to carry out that ministry.  You can minister and exercise your spiritual gifts – whether teaching or prophecy or mercy or giving or whatever your gifts may be – out of a sense of duty and service, but if you do it without love, you cannot please Me.  Love should be the foundation of all you do.  When you serve with love wherever I call you, your service will be effective.  People sense when you don’t care so they don’t respond.  People long to be loved so when you extend love to them, they are more receptive to Me because they see Me in you.

1 Corinthians 9-11

What God said to me – Paul was confident enough in his walk that he told the Corinthians to imitate him just as he imitated Me.  What about you?  Is your walk with Me so close that you act like Me?  Could you in good conscience encourage others to imitate you?  That’s the way it should be.  When you walk with Me in obedience and love, you are an example I use to encourage other believers.  When you are disobedient and neglect your walk with Me, you are an obstacle, not just to other believers, but to non-believers also.  Walk in such a way that you bring honor and glory to My name then I can use you as a witness to those around you, both believers and non-believers.

1 Corinthians 5-8

What God said to me – Living as a Christian in today’s world is not easy.  There are always questions – should I do this as a Christian – should I not do this – how does my lifestyle affect my walk and witness?  There are many “gray areas” that are not addressed in My word.  So how do you know what you should do or should not do?  It’s simple – you walk with Me.  You seek Me.  I will direct you.  You won’t go wrong when you follow My direction.  When you are in doubt ask how it will glorify Me – or will it glorify Me?  Is it something that is beneficial or positive for you or for others?  Listen to that still small voice inside of you.  Pray about it and trust that I will direct you.  When you desire to follow Me and glorify Me and obey Me, I will not let you fall.
