Nehemiah 4-6

What God said to me – The world becomes angry when you are fully engaged in serving Me and doing the work I have called you to do.  Don’t worry or be afraid.  The battle is not yours, but Mine.  Your job is to pray and continue doing the things I have called you to do.  That is not to say that you shouldn’t be alert and prepared.  The Hebrews continued the work of rebuilding the wall when they were challenged but they did it after much prayer and with one hand on their weapon while they worked.  In the same way, you must be prepared for attack, but don’t let fear or the preparation be so consuming that you neglect the actual work.  When you see the multitudes roiling into an angry mob, know that “I AM” still sovereign and I will accomplish My plan.

Nehemiah 1-3

What God said to me – When you read about those who rebuilt the wall around Jerusalem for the most part they worked on the area around their houses.  Each one did their job until all the wall was rebuilt and reconnected.  I have placed you where you are for a reason.  Look around you to find the ministry I have called you to do.  Look around you to see the people I have called you to pray for – the ones you interact with and see on a regular basis and the ones I bring providentially across your path or the ones I lay on your heart.  You must learn to be faithful in your own arena.  You must open your eyes to see the needs around you.  You must be content where I placed you in the world knowing that I have a plan to use you to minister to and reach those I bring to you.  Your place and your obedience are vital in accomplishing My purposes and plans.

Ezra 8-10

What God said to me – How do you react when you sin or hear about sin? Do you grieve that “I AM” grieved or do you rank the sin as “bad” and “not so bad”? You must learn to see sin in the way I see it. The only way you can do that is to walk with Me moment by moment. As we go along together, I will speak to you and teach you as you see things and encounter people and situations. You must begin to pray about things and not react. Pray for the people who sin and pray for those affected. Sin has such a high price. It ruins individuals. It ruins families. It ruins society. This is part of praying without ceasing – interceding on behalf of others so they repent and turn to Me, and you walk in a manner worthy of your calling.
