2 Chronicles 9-12

What God said to me – What is your reputation in the world, in your family, in your church?  Because whether you realize it or not, you do have a reputation.  Do the people in your family think as highly as other people you know?  Your lifestyle and your walk with Me must be so authentic that even those who are closest to you have a good opinion of you.  Too many times people put on a front for those they encounter outside of their family and drop their guard when they’re home.  After the Queen of Sheba spent time with Solomon she said he surpassed all the reports she had heard about him.  Do you live in such a way that others will say that about you – that even your family will say that about you?  Your walk must be so steadfast and so consistent that it is the same in the community as it is at home.  To do that you must stay close to Me day by day, moment by moment.  Your reputation is a reflection on Me.

2 Chronicles 6-8

What God said to me – The world does not know Me or seek Me.  They look at creation and think it is all a coincidence in nature.  They do not ascribe it to Me.  Just as Solomon’s temple stood as a witness to the world of My greatness and faithfulness, so you as My temple now stand as a witness to the world.  The way the world sees Me now is through My church.  They look to My children and see the way they live and are either drawn to Me or they turn away.  Your actions and lifestyle and words either lift Me up or tarnish My reputation.  Keep this in mind as you respond to the various situations and trials you encounter.  They are watching you.  Live in such a way as to bring honor to My name.  Live in such a way that they know you belong to Me – not just by your words, but by your actions.

2 Chronicles 2-5

What God said to me – When Solomon built the temple for Me he sent for the most skilled artisans he could find and the finest materials available.  He spent seven years and untold fortune preparing it and that temple is no more – it was destroyed because of the sin of My people.  Today I dwell within My people – in you, My child.  It doesn’t require fortunes or great artisans to make you a place fit for Me to dwell.  It only takes obedience and submission and cooperation with Me as I work to transform your heart.  Unlike Solomon’s temple which was destroyed, you are Mine eternally.  No matter how big a mess you make of your life, all you have to do is turn to Me and I will clean it back up.  I don’t move out until you get things fixed – “I AM” with you always.
